August 3, 2005
Kyocera Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Cutting Tool Product Group, is pleased
to announce the release of its new KBN510 and KBN525 micro-grain CBN
cutting tool grades. Both materials are designed for cutting hardened
steels, a material widely used in the automotive industry; KBN510 has
been developed for continuous machining and finishing, while KBN525 is
an ideal grade for interrupted machining.
The key feature of the KBN-series is the ultra-fine uniform distribution
of the CBN material. The improved particle dispersion has dramatically
increased the chipping resistance and wear resistance of cutting tool
inserts, providing a service life up to 1.5 times longer compared to
conventional CBN tools.
Both KBN510 and KBN525 are offered in the new BB-series chipbreaker,
designed to improve chip control in case-hardened materials.
