October 18, 2005
Kyocera Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, Cutting Tool Division, is pleased to
announce the addition of CA5505 and CA5535 to the CA-series of CVD
coated Indexable inserts designed for machining steel. The addition
completes the CA-series lineup and fulfills the demand for inserts
that cover a wide range of high-speed machining applications.
The CA-series of CVD coated carbide grades include:
CA5505: High-speed, continuous machining
CA5515: All-purpose, light and interrupted machining
CA5525: All-purpose, interrupted machining
CA5535: Heavy cutting, interrupted machining
The technologically advanced coating system of the CA55-series goes
above and beyond anything available in the market today. The extra
smooth outer TiN coating reduces cutting forces, resists adhesion,
and prevents sudden fracture. An Al2O3 layer combats crater wear and
dissipates heat leading to longer tool life. The fine columnar TiCN
layer assists in increasing toughness and wear resistance. As a
result, these new products offer stable processing of steel where both
continuous cutting and interrupted cutting processes are involved.
Also introduced is the new PT chipbreaker. The land support structure
enables a firm insert seat, thereby preventing micro chipping and providing
extremely efficient and consistent machining. The PT chipbreaker and the
CA55-series coated carbide grades are offered in a wide variety of geometries.
